Privacy Policy

Backseat DJ ("the app", "we", "us") is an Android music player developed by Zoran Banković,
an individual developer. This policy explains what data the app collects, how it is used,
and your rights.
1. Data we collect
- Device token — a randomly generated 64-character identifier created on first launch. It is used only to track download quotas and is never linked to your name, email, or any personally identifiable information.
- Download history — a list of songs you have downloaded, stored on our server and linked to your device token. Used to enforce free-tier limits and to restore your library if you reinstall.
- Account information (optional) — if you choose to register a free account, we store your email address and a hashed (bcrypt) password. You can delete your account at any time from the app settings.
- Support messages (optional) — if you contact support through the app, we store your message and your account email in order to reply.
2. Data we do NOT collect
- We do not collect your real name, phone number, or location.
- We do not use advertising SDKs or third-party analytics.
- We do not sell or share your data with any third party.
- We do not track your listening habits beyond what is necessary to restore your library.
3. How data is stored
All data is stored on a private server (Frankfurt, Germany) running MongoDB.
Data is not shared with any third party.
Your downloaded audio files are stored locally on your device only.
4. Music content
Backseat DJ streams and downloads audio using publicly available sources.
The app does not host any music files on its servers.
All content is retrieved on demand and stored locally on your device.
5. Permissions
- Internet — to search and stream music.
- Read/Write external storage — to save downloaded songs on your device.
- Foreground service / Wake lock — to keep music playing when the screen is off.
- Bluetooth — optional car audio integration (A2DP / SCO mode).
- Vibration — for notification feedback.
6. Data retention and deletion
You can delete your account at any time from More → Account → Delete account.
This permanently removes your email, password, and download history from our server.
Your device token and locally stored audio files are not affected — uninstalling the app removes those.
7. Children's privacy
The app is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy occasionally. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect any changes.
Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

3. 数据存储方式
所有数据存储在位于德国法兰克福的私有服务器上（MongoDB 数据库）。
数据不与任何第三方共享。
您下载的音频文件仅存储在您的设备本地。
4. 音乐内容
Backseat DJ 通过公开可用的来源流式传输和下载音频。
本应用不在其服务器上托管任何音乐文件。
所有内容均按需获取并存储在您的设备本地。
5. 权限说明
- 互联网 — 用于搜索和流式传输音乐。
- 读取/写入外部存储 — 用于将下载的歌曲保存到您的设备。
- 前台服务 / 唤醒锁 — 用于在屏幕关闭时保持音乐播放。
- 蓝牙 — 可选的车载音频集成（A2DP / SCO 模式）。
- 振动 — 用于通知反馈。
6. 数据保留与删除
您可随时通过 更多 → 账户 → 删除账户 删除您的账户。
这将从我们的服务器上永久删除您的电子邮件、密码和下载历史。
您的设备令牌和本地存储的音频文件不受影响——卸载应用将删除这些内容。
7. 儿童隐私
本应用不面向13岁以下儿童。我们不会故意收集儿童的数据。
8. 政策变更
我们可能会不定期更新本政策。页面顶部的"最后更新"日期将反映任何更改。
在更改后继续使用本应用即表示接受更新后的政策。
